The solution
Salko supplied skilled supervision and labour, including in-house coded pressure welders for this bespoke project. Salko worked very closely during the preparation and execution with both the OEM and Service Provider, as well as of course the customer due to the complex nature of the replacement and parts supply from the OEM through the service provider.
The project entailed:
- Pre planning and client meetings
- Procurement of consumables
- Procurement of Materials
- Provision of all EHS and quality documentation, review by client insurances and notifiable body, due to the works being carried out on PSSR systems, under PSSR regulations.
Execution of Scope
- Steam Chamber Removal
- Water inlet removal
- Main Shell machining and removal
- Machining of Steam Chamber, Water inlet and Tube Sheet
- Vacuum Testing of existing tubes
- Bending and installation of new tubes – all completed on site by Salko Precision Pipe Fitters
- Re-installation of Water inlet and Steam Chamber
- All NDT and RT activities passed off by Specialist contractor
- Installation of new tube sheet
- Re-installation of main shell
- Fully complete and passed hydrotest of completed system
