Meet the Team: Anna Grimbleby, Accounts Administrator

At Salko UK, we take great pride in shining a spotlight on the people behind our success. Our team plays a vital role in driving the business forward and making a meaningful impact across the industry.

This month, we sat down with Anna Grimbleby, our Accounts Administrator, who has been a vital member of the team supporting our day-to-day office functions. Coming from a role as a teacher, Anna has brought an infectious enthusiasm to the office, plus she makes a great coffee!

Can you tell us more about what your role entails?

A typical day involves checking all purchasing emails across all inboxes, processing invoices and payments, reconciling bank accounts, resolving supplier or customer queries, preparing payment runs for suppliers monthly, submitting CIS reports and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

How did you become part of the M&E industry?

My first job was as a primary school teacher in the local area. I came to Salko UK in the summer holidays after being offered a temporary admin position. In Easter 2024, the team reached out to me to offer me a full-time role. Fast forward two years and my role has developed a lot, but the rest is history and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What’s a challenge you often face in your role and how do you overcome it?

Moving from a role where I was on my feet all day to sitting at a desk was a major adjustment. To stay active, I make full use of our on-site gym and personal trainer. Plus, with our office located in Goole, I love taking lunch breaks outdoors to explore the surrounding countryside and visit our new sheep to burn off extra energy.

What’s a hobby you’re passionate about outside of work?

I’m a creative person and love music. I occasionally play the piano alongside other instruments and enjoy getting stuck into crafts and drawing. I also believe that family and friends’ game night is something that can’t be beaten. A bit of friendly competition never hurts!
