Meet the Team: Dan Masterman, Finance Manager

We sat down with Dan Masterman, our Finance Manager, who has been an integral part of the team for over three years. With extensive experience in finance, Dan brings valuable insight, precision and a forward-thinking approach to the business.

What does your average working day look like?

No two days are exactly the same. My role is a mix of planned activities, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks as well as more ad hoc responsibilities. This can range from processing invoices to preparing management accounts that help other departments make informed, strategic decisions.

What’s something about yourself that might surprise people?

I can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under two minutes!

How does your role contribute to Salko UK’s mission?

I work closely with the operations team to gather project forecasts and convert them into cashflow projections. This enables the team to plan ahead effectively and ensure the necessary financial resources are in place to successfully deliver projects.

What accomplishment are you most proud of since joining the team?

Since joining, I’ve led several key improvements from implementing new account software, enhancing reporting processes and strengthening our management accounts process.

These changes have helped improve financial visibility and support better decision-making across the business, something which I’m really proud of.

What’s a hobby you’re passionate about outside of work?

I play pool in the Goole Pool League on Wednesday nights and I occasionally try my hand at golf – though there’s definitely still room for improvement!
