This month, we sat down with Dave Curry, our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead, who has been with us for five years, delivering our vital health, safety and environmental management systems and enforcing the Salko UK EHS standards across all of our projects. With extensive industry experience, Dave has brought brilliant ideas to the team as well as his sharp attention to detail and passion for safety.

Can you tell us more about your role?

As the EHS lead for Salko UK, I am responsible for delivering an environmental, health and safety management system that aligns with regulatory requirements and the business needs. I’m particularly proud of this as I built the system from scratch!

How did you become part of the M&E industry?

I started my career in the M&E industry working for Alstom Power Ltd, now known as GE Vernova, on nuclear, gas and coal-fired power station outages.

What’s a challenge you often face in your role and how do you overcome it?

We always endeavour to align the appropriate measures with the associated and projected risks. In my role, I offer consultative advice on how to mitigate time and effort on overly cautious measures, to focus on the best solutions for every customer.

How does your role contribute to Salko UK’s mission?

By implementing Salko’s environmental, health and safety standards and shared beliefs across projects, I support reassuring our clients that Salko provides a service they can rely on.
