With World Environment Day approaching on 5th June, it serves as a timely reminder that the call for climate conscious action is more urgent than ever. At Salko UK, we recognise the vital role and responsibility Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) service providers hold in shaping a more sustainable future.

By innovating and optimising the systems that power our buildings and industrial processes and by enabling greater integration with renewable energy and the grid, we are not only helping clients meet their sustainability targets, but actively contributing to the UK’s net zero ambitions.

M&E providers play a crucial role in meeting sustainability targets across the industrial sector and within commercial and infrastructure projects, by directly influencing a building’s energy consumption and therefore, its overall carbon footprint.

Green innovation at Salko UK

Salko UK is continuously innovating to stay at the forefront of sustainable M&E practices. From delivering energy-efficient solutions in complex industrial settings, to supporting energy generation infrastructure to help deliver critical systems for renewable and low-carbon initiatives. We are driven by a mission to reduce emissions, conserve resources, and deliver lasting environmental value.

From energy-efficient technologies in complex industrial settings to supporting renewable energy infrastructure, our mission is to power a greener tomorrow.

Our environmental commitment

Sustainability is embedded into everything we do at Salko UK – our comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy and robust Integrated Management System (IMS), certified to ISO 14001:2015, guide our environmental strategy.

These frameworks ensure that we minimise our environmental impact and maximise positive contributions wherever we can.

We are also proactive in identifying and reducing negative environmental impacts across our operations. Our goal is to go beyond compliance, taking steps to enhance the environment, not just protect it.

Generating our own power and reducing energy

At our head office, we’re working to meet our power needs through locally installed solar generation. We’ve partnered with a local architect to redesign our parking areas, incorporating solar-integrated shelters and EV charging points.

At Salko UK we’re also cutting energy consumption by switching to LED lighting in our offices and workshops, reducing electricity use and lowering heat output for better energy efficiency.

We also understand that green technologies are the future of our sector. We’re committed to workforce development, investing in training and upskilling in emerging technologies to ensure our team is equipped to deliver low-carbon solutions.
